While downtown Montreal is right across the Saint-Laurent river with some of the most entertaining activities, some days all you want is to chill out in a park. Near the Nordelec, you have sevreral parks that are within walking distance. Whether it is to read under the shade with your favorite book, find a new path for your daily jogging, or take a nap in the grass with your iPod on repeat, there are some wonderful options for you.
Marguerite Bourgeoys Park
At the park entrance, you will find a beautiful flowerbed. The park is vast: there is no doubt you will easily find a quiet spot for yourself. After your stop at the park, you can head north towards Liverpool Street. See all the duplex there starting from number 636? They were all built on the land that once used to belong to Robert Knox, an Irish farmer.
Located on Grand Trunk Street, Saint-Gabriel Park has lots of benches, a kids’ playground and a baseball field. Perfect place to enjoy the rest of the summer!
Le Ber Park
Ready to swish? At Le Ber Park, you will find a basketball court to show your dribbling and shooting talents. Feeling more like hitting a home run? There is also a great baseball field! This park is great for playing sports, but also to enjoy a great picnic in the outdoors.
So really, there is no reason to stay in: go out and get some fresh air… only minutes away from your home.
